Ian Debiase en su estudio

I was born on July 9th, 1985 in Buenos Aires, Argentina. I studied drawing and pursued studies in Literature at the University of Buenos Aires.

I create comics and illustrations for Argentina, the USA, and Europe.

I have published the following books: Life Resembles Our Dreams So Little That We Celebrate Every Time the Weekend Arrives (2015), Sputnik Heart (2016), Subcomandante Marcos (2017) -which was also translated into Greek and Hungarian-, What Do You Want to Be When You Grow Up? (2019) with a script by Marcelo Pulido, Basic Guide to Surviving Explosions (2021) with a script by Cristian Blasco -which won the 1st Prize in Graphic Narrative from the Proa Foundation-, and The Tree Hunter -which won the 1st Prize in Graphic Novel 2023 from the National Endowment for the Arts.

I have worked for magazines such as Sudestada, Caras y Caretas, Fierro, MAD. I was an Illustration professor at the University of Palermo.

I have held exhibitions and presentations in Argentine cities such as Buenos Aires, Mar del Plata, Córdoba, Rosario, and in Athens, Greece.

My most recent book is The Rebellion. Stories of the Cordobazo (2024), a graphic novel about the most significant urban rebellion of the second half of the 20th century in Latin America, which took place in 1969 in Córdoba, Argentina. The project won a Grant from the National Endowment for the Arts in 2023 and was declared of Provincial Interest by the Legislature of Córdoba.
